Margaret Riordan Litchfield, 94, Ames. Born in rural Boone County. At age seven, the William Henry and Rose Marie Doherty Riordan family moved to Boone. BSH-45. Worked at Newberry's department store in Boone and was an avid roller skater. Married Commodore Tunney (Litch) Litchfield at Boone Sacred Heart in 1950. She worked at Collegiate Manufacturing in Ames before becoming a homemaker. She was a in-home child care provider for many years. Survivors include her two daughters of Ames. Services in Ames. Her husband, Litch, and her brother, William Francis Riordan, were among those preceeding her in death.
Marian (Mary) Catherine Dunne Welch, 82, Ames. Born in Andrew, IA. AHS. Married Charles Welch. The couple owned and operated a grocery store in Davenport before divorcing. Mary moved to Boone and worked as a purchasing agent for the NADC in Ames before retirement. After retirement, she worked at Casey locations in Boone and Ames. She enjoyed walking the trails at Ledges State Park and visiting the Amana colonies. Survivors include her daughters, Cosette Bergman and Joyce (Robert) Dilly, and a sister-in-law. Services in Ames.
