BOONE CONNECTED DEATH

      Reverend Kenneth J. Hartman Sr., 77, Blue Grass, IA. Born in Boone. BHS-63. University of Iowa. St. Paul School of Theology. Military vet. Developed his own company, Telecommunications Diversified Services. Served as Mayor and City Council member. Taught at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and at several community colleges. Ordained in the Church of God of Prophecy, later in the United Methodist Church and he pastored at many churches. Was Chaplain for the Bettendorf Police Department and worked for MCI in California. He enjoyed writing poetry and music, both singing and playing instruments. He was passionate about reading scriptures, writing Bible studies, preaching and working with youth. Survivors include his wife, Lorrraine J. Roth Hartman, two sons, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Services in Iowa City.
