BOONE AREA DEATH

     Phyliss Arlene Buche Martens, 93, Madrid/Madrid Home. Born near Madrid. Sheldahl HS-46. Married Frank Oliver. When he died, she married Samuel Schooling and they moved to Kansas City. When Samuel died in 1967, she moved back to Iowa. She married Ivan Martens and they lived in Roland and then, Huxley. When Ivan passed in 2018, she moved to Madrid. She had worked and played basketball at Look Magazine in Des Moines in her earlier years, worked for the Iowa Department of Commerce, Iowa State University and retired from the ISU Library. She was an EMTA in Roland, a Story County Election Judge and a DAR chapter member. Survivors include a son and daughter, two brothers, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. Services in Sheldahl.
