Stephen Edward Payton, 73, Boone. Born in Perry. PHS-67. Marine vet. Married Beth Noland in 1972. The couple divorced in 1988. Worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as a conductor for 38 years. Retired from the Union Pacific in 2010. Was a golfer, card player, fisherman, a member of the VFW and American Legion, the Moose and the Hunt and Fish Club. Survivors include two daughters, including Nicole (Nic) Arringdale of Boone. Services in Boone and Perry.
