BOONE CONNECTED DEATH

     Russell Leo Knutson, 94, Boone. Born in Soldier, IA. World War II vet. Married Donna Hummel in 1951. Earned an engineering degree from ISU and began working for the Department of Agriculture. After living in Des Moines and retiring after 30 years, the couple moved north of Boone where he built a house, worked a small farm and trained mustangs, horses, and a mule. He participated in Boy Scouts, Lions Club, church, traveled, did some square dancing, hiking and camping, tinkering with farm equipment and breaking wild horses. Survivors include three children, their spouses and a sister. Services in Boone.
