BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

     Glenace Jean Doran, 91, Ogden. Born in  Elberon, IA. The family moved to Coon Rapids where Glenace became a first team all-state basketball player in 1959. After graduation, she moved to Des Moines where she continued her basketball career as a member of the famed American Institute of Business (AIB) team. She married Jerald Raver Doran of Beaver in 1952 and they began a farming operation near Grand Junction. Glenace was able to live independently in her own home until shortly before her passing. She died in Fort Dodge. Survivors include three adult children and a brother. Services in Ogden. 

     Mary Kathman, 72, Boone. 

     Nola J. Wilson, 93, Boone. Formerly of Paton/Jefferson. Survivors include three sons, including Steven (Janet) Wilson of Boone. A sister also survives. Services in Jefferson.

     Lenard Ober, 86, Stratford. Born in rural Dayton. Attended Stratford schools. Married Joyce Dorothea Hickle in Minnesota in 1958. He was a expert mechanic who worked for Westrum Motors and Ober's Auto Sales and Service. He was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Stratford, five adult children, including Julie (Chris) Leaf of Boone and two sisters. Services at a later date.

     Everett Scott Freel, 89, Ames. Born in rural Boone County. Freel Garbage Service served the Central Iowa area for several years. His wife and three adult children survive. Services in Ames and Gilbert.
