Adam Patrick Brekke, 40, Boone. Born in Marshalltown. Married Joni Chamberlin in 2004. Worked in construction with his cousin, Ty Brekke, building cabinets. Later, he and his brother, Brook, started building houses via their own construction business. Adam favored football but loved all sports. He enjoyed other outdoor activities such as riding dirt bikes, 4 wheelers and driving his pickup. He also became quite an accomplished cook. Survivors include his mother, Alaine Sprain-Wesley Love, his father, Daniel Brekke, four sons, three siblings, Joni Chamberlin and his best friend, Travis Garrett. Services in Boone.
Gary L. Knopf, 81, Dayton. Born in Algona. Burnside/Lehigh HS-59. Worked several positions in Lehigh and Dayton and, served as the Dayton mayor for a time. Survivors include a brother and five sisters, including Phyliss Linn of Boone. Services in Dayton.
