Dennis Hostetler, 74, Boone. Born in Jefferson. JHS and then a tech school in Des Moines. Married Sue Mahnesmith in Illinois in 1971. They divorced. He worked for Case IH for several years. In 1988, he started working for Jim Miller delivering LP gas, which was later sold to Heart of Iowa and then to Key Cooperative. In 1989, he married Maureen (Henderson) Davis at the Ledges. The new couple became parents of his two daughters and her three sons, ages 2-12. The couple started a craft business in 1994. Dennis and Maureen enjoyed camping for five years at Don Williams Lake. In 2021, Dennis was diagnosed with kidney cancer but he died of a major heart attack. Dennis had retired in 2019. Survivors include his wife, Maureen, of Boone and their three sons, Jacob (Heather) Davis, Aaron (Katie) Davis and Caleb (Earin) Davis all of Boone. Two daughters also survive. Additional survivors are his father, Willard Hostetler, his stepmother,Janette Hostetler, a sister and three brothers. Services in Boone.
