BOONE CONNECTED DEATH

     Carole Jeanne Grotrian Nelson, 80, Boone/Eastern Star. Born in Cook, NE. CHS-60. Then Dana College before graduating from Iowa State in 1977. Had married Peter Nelson in 1963. Worked as a Teacher's Aide in  the Boone school district until 1984. That year, she became the director of the Gingerbread House Day Care and Preschool. She worked there until it closed in 1994. That year, she went to work for the Ogden school district where she was a teacher's associate and, for the last four years prior to retirement, a special education teacher. Survivors include her husband, Peter, of Boone, a son, a daughter, and two brothers. Services in Boone.

     Thomas Jerome Murphy, 83, Wylie, TX. BSH-58. Born in Harris, IA. Lived in Boone for two years after high school graduation. Worked for John Deere and Sears before military service. In 1966, he returned to Texas and worked for Sears. Tom moved to Garland, TX and started a career in retail management, operating drug stores and managing superstores for over 15 years. After sales work for RC Cola, in 1999, he opened an auto glass business until retirement. Tom was married three times and married his present wife, Roseann Murphy, in 1975. The couple lived in Allen, TX for over 10 years and then settled in Wylie, TX. Tom spent many of his last days working, with his wife,  on his beloved ranch in Emory, TX. The couple have four adult children. Services in Texas.
