James McBride Sr., 57, Boone.
Ricki L. Williams, 69, Boone. Grew up in Ames. AHS. Worked in the U.S. Postal Service. He loved tinkering with any machine, computers to car engines. Loved country guitar and gospel music. He studied religious texts from both within and without his Christian faith. Loved convenience store coffee, wordplay, and making anyone laugh. Survivors include two adult children, five siblings and two step-brothers. Private services later.
James Alan Van Pelt, 79, Marion. Born in Boone. OHS-62. Westmar. Married Constance Ann Currier in 1965. Taught at West Harrison, Ballard, Arnold's Park and East Greene schools. Also coached various sports and was the Athletic Director at East Green. Retired in 2006. In 1994, married Marilyn Rose Kortenkamp Hernandez and in 2015 they moved to Marion. Jim enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, the Hawkeyes and the Yankees. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Marion, a son, a daughter, a step-son and two siblings. Services in Ogden and Marion.
