BOONE CONNECTED/AREA DEATHS
Channon Irene Buckingham McKay, 70, Bellevue, NE. A cosmetologist for 45 years with two different salons. Daughter of Boone residents, Millard (Buck) Buckingham and Mildred Chapman and a sister to Collin Buckingham, all deceased. Survivors include her husband, Tim, a son and a sister, Dominie Chapman. Services in Bellevue.
Linda Kay Johnson, 75, Boone/Westhaven. Born in Boone. Grew up in Pilot Mound. Grand HS-65. Boone Junior College, then UNI where she earned a degree in Home Economics. Taught in Parkersburg and Council Bluffs but then became a manager with Northwest Fabrics. Later, worked at the State University of Iowa Hospital as personnel supervisor for the Pharmacy Department. Also continued her education there, earning a degree for elementary and special education. Taught in Eagle Grove until retirement. Survivors include four nephews, including Michael Williams of Boone and Jay Williams of Pilot Mound. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Gerald Reutter, of Pilot Mound. Services in Pilot Mound.
Coleen Jones, 67, Boone?
Gerald Clouser, 89, Ames. Born in Gilbert. Gilbert HS. Army vet. Married Patricia Banford in 1955. Worked for National Security Agency. Retired in 1986. Survivors include four adult children and a sister, Marlene Weigel, of Boone. Services in Gilbert.
Donna Ingalls Crouse, 93, Dallas Center. Born in Fraser. BHS-46. Attended Iowa State Teacher's College (UNI) and taught in rural Ridgeport prior to her marriage to Fred Crouse, BHS-47, in 1949. The couple farmed while raising their family and Donna cared for Fred, during his many years of illness, until his death in 1983. Lived in the Dallas Center area for over 60 years. Donna was a lab technician for Pioneer until her retirement in 2008. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include four sons and a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Ingalls. Services in Polk City. Burial at Bass Point north of Boone.
