John McGee, 82, Arvada, CO. BHS-58. Among the survivors is his wife, Sherri.
Tom Brekke, 64, Ames. AHS-77. Disabled from birth, he worked at the DOT from 1977-2008 and had several other "jobs," as well, such as being a Camp Sunnyside counselor and youth sports coach. Married Sue Shuey, BHS-78, in 1980. Sue is among the survivors. Several Boone or former Boone Shuey's were also relatives. Sue's parents were Ken, BHS-56, and JoAnn, both deceased, and her brothers are Stephen Shuey, BHS-79, and Monti Shuey, BHS-81.
Joyce Ann Olson, 85, Pinellas Park, Florida. Born in Hampton. Dayton HS-54. Earned a teaching degree from Iowa Teachers and Drake University. Taught first grade for 42 years at Boxholm and Dayton elementary schools. Retired in 1996. Married Dean Olson in 1956. They lived in Dayton for 54 years before moving to Florida. Two daughters are among the survivors. Local memorial services are pending.
