Prior to the final Boone All Star game at the Boone National Little League, the Iowa Intermediate 50/70 Baseball District three champions were recognized. The team is the first baseball team in BNLL history to make Intermediate Regional All Star tournament play.
This was the first year, BNLL offered the intermediate 50/70 division, which was made possible by cooperation with the city of Boone, the Boone Parks Department and the slow pitch softball league, which allowed access to the McHose Park diamonds for their games.
The Boone team will begin Central Region tournament play on July 14 at 6:30 p.m. against an Ohio team. The game will be played at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex in Ankeny.
