So close.......that Boone 13-year old Intermediate Little League baseball team fell just short of qualifying for the World Series Thursday.
They had lost a previous game to an Indiana team in earlier rounds of the Central Region double elimination tournament. Thursday, they suffered their second and deciding loss, 8-4, to Sergeant Bluff.
Later Thursday, Indiana and Sergeant Bluff would meet for the championship and advancement to the World Series.
The Central Region tourney has been held in Ankeny.
The Boone team competed very well while finishing in third place in the Central Region.
