Marchelle "Marcy" Peterson Schlief, 63, Boxholm passed away at University of Iowa Hospital. Born in Boone. BHS-79. Earned a nursing degree from DMACC. Worked at the Boone County Hospital for many years and as a Charge Nurse for several skilled care facilities in Greene and Webster Counties. Married Ron Peterson in Boone in 1982. The couple divorced. Married Willy Schleif in Boxholm in 2015. She loved any outdoor activities, enjoyed riding horses and attending the Iowa State Fair. Survivors include her husband, Willy, of Boxholm, her daughters, Kristin (Josh) Wilson of Ogden and Karrie (Curtis) Widener, of Perry and her brother Mike Munson of Boxholm. Services in Ogden and Boxholm.
Shirley Mae Blank Davisson, 72, Bouton. Born in Boone. Attended Logansport Grade School and then, BHS-70. Married Doyle Davisson in Boone in 1971. The couple resided in Boone and Bouton and later, divorced. Shirley worked at Archway in Boone and Oscar Mayer, IBP and Tyson in Perry before retirement. Survivors include a daughter and a son, Roger (Cindy) Blank of Boone. Services in Ogden.
Jerome Bretschneider, 75, Madrid. Born in Seattle, WA. High school in Washington in 1968. Navy Viet Nam vet. Married Shirley Bliss in Seattle in 1987. Had a long railroad dispatcher career with the Milwaukee Road, Burlington Northern and Sante Fe Railway. He retired in 2009. The couple enjoyed retirement in Townsend, MT but moved to Luther in 2018, near their daughter. A faithful church member, he was a charter Knights of Columbus member, established an Adult Alter Server program, served as a sacristan and Eucharistic Minister and in numerous other ways. In Iowa, he belonged to the local VFW, American Legion, Boone County Historical Society, Boone and Scenic Valley, Madrid Historical Society and the Ascension Parish Social Justice Committee. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of Luther, a daughter, Jennifer (Matthew Upah) Bretschneider, currently stationed in Italy and two sisters in Florida. Services in Madrid.
David Robinson Libby, 81, West Des Moines. Born in Sergeant Bluff. DMRoosevelt HS. Drake journalism grad. Was Sports Editor of the Boone News Republican prior to working for Iowa Realty in Des Moines. He retired from Iowa Realty. Married Bonnie. A collector of antiques, mostly advertising signs and tins. Belonged to the Antique Car Club via a '57 T-Bird convertible. Loved traveling and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, and two sisters. Services in Des Moines.
