Those Boone 13-year old Little League baseball players refuse to end their season.
With one loss in the double elimination Central Region Intermediate Tournament, the squad, coached by Nate Ross, faced two "must win" games yesterday (Wednesday) AND won them both, beating Missouri, 1-0, on the shutout pitching of Chase Wulf and then, stopping Michigan, 20-14, in a slugfest.
The end result is that three teams still remain in contention for World Series qualification.
Today, Thursday, July 18, Boone will play Council Bluffs and the winner of that 2:30 p.m. game will battle Indiana at 7:30 p.m. for the Central Region championship and World Series qualification.
Indiana is the team that had defeated Boone in an earlier contest.
The action takes place in Ankeny at the Prairie Ridge Sports Complex and the games are available on YouTube.
