Irene M. Swanson Thies, 98, Oskaloosa. Born in Boone. Attended school in Boone. Married Raymond Thies in Jefferson in 1947. After living in Seattle, she moved back to Boone. Worked in the laundry department at the Evangelical Free Church Home until retirement after 20 years. Was a member of the Marion Street United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 817 in Boone. Survivors include three adult children. Graveside service in September in the Pilot Mound Cemetery.
