BOONE CONNECTED DEATH

    Francis Dean Simmerman, 85, Boone. Born in Warren County/Indianola. Spring Hill HS-55. In 1956 it became Norwalk or Martensdale via consolidation. Simpson College-59. Married Martha Jo Anderson in 1980. Worked for HyVee in Indianola, Iowa City and Duff Avenue in Ames, a store he managed for 13 years. In 1982, he and Martha Jo purchased the Boone Dairy Queen and operated it for 11 years. Prior to retirement, he sold advertising for KWBG radio for five years. Many years of traveling were enjoyed. Survivors include his wife, Martha Jo, five adult children, a stepdaughter, brother and sister. Services in Boone.
