Roger Reynoldson, 91, Boone. Born in rural Boone County. Attended school through eighth grade before becoming a member of the work force. U.S. Army vet. Loved horses and began a rodeo career as a teen. A steer wrestler, he also participated in wild horse races. Married Betty Stoneburner in Boone in 1963. He was a railroad employee with the Fort Dodge line before joining the Chicago Northwestern and retiring from the Union Pacific. A 50-year active member of the Open Bible church. Survivors include his wife, Betty, a son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Services in Boone.
Becky Wilber LeGrand, 75, Boone. Born in Creston. Actively engaged in church and sang in the Creston Choir. Loved music and competed in the baton twirling competition at the Iowa State Fair. After some years in California, Becky returned to Iowa and settled in Boone. After a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, she underwent treatment at the University of Iowa and conquered the cancer. She was among the first to ever benefit from using her own bone marrow for a transplant, which granted her several additional years of life. She loved her dogs, a shih tzu poodle and a shih tzu chihuahua. Survivors include two daughters. A COL will be planned for a later time.
Linda Louise Handy Mosman, 65, Boone. She was a lifetime victim of R.A. Born in Nebraska. BHS-77. The family lived in several communities, Topeka, Ks, Florence, AL, Alva, OK and eventually, Boone. Linda met and married Jim Mosman in Boone. She was employed by Allied Insurance, a factory software company and later, was a secretary at the Animal Science Department at Iowa State. Linda loved to read and also enjoyed the threatre and musical plays. She was a first chair Flautist in high school, loved to fish and spend time at the family cabin. Survivors include her husband, Jim, of Boone and daughter, Lily. Services in Boone.
Wanda Rush Lingren, 76, Boone. Born in Webster City. BHS-65. Married Larry Lingren in Boone in 1982. The couple enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas. They lived in California for 13 years and wintered in Texas for 17 years but moved back to Boone in 1999. Wanda loved garage sales and gambling. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2023. Survivors include her husband, Larry, a son and two step-daughters. Services in Boone.
Darlene B. Lass Johnston, 97, Dayton. Beaver HS-44. Born in Ogden. Married Lawrence Harrison Johnston in 1946. The couple farmed at Ogden, Boxholm and Dayton. Darlene worked for DeKalb farm, Grandview Heath Care Center in Dayton and K-Mart in Fort Dodge. Lawrence died in 2002. An active church member, she enjoyed traveling extensively with Lawrence and close friends, Jack and Marlys Sheibley. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law. Services in Dayton.
