Janice "Jan" Wittry Kanne, 81, Johnston. Former Boone resident. Born in Carroll. C-Kuemper-55. Class Salutorian and Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year. Earned an RN degree from St. Anthony School of Nursing. Married Ralph Kanne in Carroll in 1958. The couple lived in Carroll, Clear Lake, Indianola and Boone. Jan was caring, supportive, generous, kind and known for her spiciness and sassiness. A member of the Lowell Club and Boone Golf and Country Club. Ralph died in 2020. Survivors include a son, Michael, BHS-90, and two daughters. Services in Boone Friday/Saturday. Burial in Carroll.
Wallace "Wally" Meade Yoho Jr., 84, Urbandale. Died the result of complications of a fall. Born in Manly. Earned a B.A. at Westmar where he participated in football. Married Patricia in 1978. For over 25 years, the Yoho family lived in Boone and Wally taught in the Boone High School industrial arts department and was an assistant coach in three sports. He retired from teaching in 1999 and worked eight years for Rottlund Homes in Des Moines. The Yoho's enjoyed spending winters in Florida and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, three children, David, BHS-84, and Shawn, BHS-88, Yoho and Andrea, BHS-90, Agness. A sister also survives. Services in Urbandale.
