BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

     Evelyn Trost Woolston, 86, Boone. Born in Kansas. Westmar IA College. Began teaching career in Sutherland, IA. Married Kenneth Woolston and the couple farmed there. They were involved in the Boone County Republican Central Committee and were delegates to the state convention. They were travelers as well. When Ken passed in 2007, Evelyn moved to Boone, closer to family. Survivors include adult children Tami (Wyman) Martinek and Todd (Sue) Woolston and two siblings. Services in Boone and Sutherland.

     JoAnn (Jo) Joyce Luther Van Pelt Zunkel, 88, Ogden. Born in Boone. Grand Jct. HS-53. Married Robert (Bob) Van Pelt in 1954. The couple farmed in Beaver Township. Jo worked at a bank in Grand Jct. before becoming a homemaker. When Bob passed in 1965, Jo and the children moved to Ogden. Jo was a bookkeeper at the Ogden Grain Company for 25 years. In 1971, she married Roger Zunkel in Ogden. In 1973, the couple moved to the family farm northeast of Ogden. Jo retired from Ogden Grain in 1998 and helped Roger farm until the couple retired in 2004. They enjoyed travel and dancing and Jo loved fishing, mowing, gardening and driving her golf cart to the pond. Roger died in 2015. Survivors include a son, David, (Kris) Van Pelt, and a daughter-in-law, Denise Van Pelt, both of Ogden and a daughter, Lynn (Dave) Cotton of Nebraska. Services in Ogden.
