BOONE CONNECTED/AREA DEATH

     Maurice (Maury) Baldus, 89, Boone/Westhaven. Born in Story County. Jordan HS-52. Married Susan Jones in 1957 and the couple moved to Boone. He worked in construction, was a truck driver and started a long-time career as a machinist at Quinn's Machine and Foundry in 1963. Maury married Janice Baker in 1978 and he and Beulah Stone married and were together until her death in 2013. Maury loved to dance, was a fisherman and hunter, a bowler and was skilled in woodworking. He was involved in the annual Baldus Fish Fry for 30 years and was a member of the Moose and VFW. Eight adult children and a sister survive. Services in Boone.   

    Carlene Henry Johnson Norris, 91, Ames/Pella. Was active in Boone Berean Baptist Church for 25 years. The couple, husband David and Carlene, spent 68 years in Ames before moving to Pella. David and three daughters survive.

    Greg David Tully, 38, Madrid. Born in Des Moines. Raised in Johnston. Married Brandi Wylie in 2008 but she passed away in 2021. They made their home in Madrid. Greg worked at Casey's, for Beaverdale Gutter and helped his uncle Richie with home improvements in the area. He loved to fish, play pool and ride his bike. Survivors include his two sons, his mother, sister, brother, half-brother and inlaws.  Services in Urbandale.

   Eleanor Belle Burgan Michael, 87. Grew up in rural Madrid. MHS where she was an actress and valedictorian. Married Madrid classmate Franklin Michael. Was a bookkeeper before having two sons. The couple purchased a small acreage that she managed while Franklin worked at Armstrong Tire Co. Chickens, swine and Pomeranian dogs were raised on the acreage. Eleanor loved to play the piano, sketch and write and won awards for her poetry. Her husband and two sons survive. Private family services.
