BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

        Timothy Brian Ferry Sr., 80, Sidney, NY. Formerly of Solon, IA, born and raised in Boone. BHS-65. Lost an eight year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Retired from Collins Rockwell in 2000. Services later with burial in Shueyville Cemetery. 

       Rebecca "Becky" Jean Good, 76. 

       Arnold "Arnie" Braland, 89, Boone. Born in Randall. Randall Consolidated-54. Married Charlene "Char" Michel in Boone in 1956. The couple settled in Boone in 1963. In the 1970's, Arnie owned and operated Braland Standard. Later, he worked at the ISU Memorial Union for 10 years before retiring. For 18 years, Arnie raced at numerous local tracks. He was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in Algona and Webster City. He was also a standout competitor for many years at the Boone Speedway. He enjoyed sports, especially the Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Camping and playing cards with his sisters was also enjoyed. Wife, Char, passed away in 2024. Survivors include three children, including Rick (Sharon) Braland of Ogden and Lori, BHS-80, (Perry-BHS-75) Brown of Boone. Two sisters also survive. Services in Boone.

       Byron C. Plummer, 70, Boone. Born in Des Moines. BHS-74. Married Debbie, BHS-71, Waynette Vickrey in Boone in 1974. Byron worked for DeKalb Seed Corn in Boone for 41 years. He enjoyed traveling, tinkering around in his garage, collecting different types of  tools, mowing and decorating for the holidays. Survivors include his wife, Debbie, a daughter, Jennifer Lea, BHS-99, (David Henry) Reynolds and a sister, Lynann Plummer. Services in Boone.

        Donna Joan Carlisle, 91, Perry. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Marilyn Heater, of Ogden.       

        Larry Jon Gilliland, 87, Sarasota, Florida. Born in Boone. Grew up in Ogden and the family moved to Des Moines in 1942. East HS-56. Married Marcella Canfield in 1973. For 27 years, was employed at Bishop's Buffet throughout the midwest, serving as a Divisional Manager until his retirement. Moved to Sarasota in 1989 and established a car dealership that remains active. Larry's wife and children survive..A COL will be held at a future time.
