BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

     Charles Rudolph Burbach, 81, Boone.    

     William W. Martin, 62, Rural Boone. Born in Tennessee. Earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree from the University of Southern Illinois-Carbondale. Then, after 20 years as an archeologist, he earned a Master's in landscape architecture from Iowa State. He was most recently employed as a senior environmental planner at EOR.Inc.. He married Kristine Johansen in Missouri in 1993. The couple lived in Missouri, Colorado and Wyoming before moving to Iowa in 2003. An Eagle Scout, Bill enjoyed the outdoors, biking, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing with his wife. He also had a large garden and was skilled as a chip carver. Bill served as a trustee for Worth Township and with his wife, served as a leader of the Boone County 4-H Science and Tech club. He served on the Boone County 4-H youth committee and frequently volunteered for organizations such as Habit for Humanity. Survivors include his wife, Kristine, of Boone as well as a son, his parents, a brother and sister. A COL is planned for the Arboretum. 

      Eva Stansbury, 97, Boone. Born in Fort Madison. Married Marion Eugene Stansbury in Fort Madison in 1947. The couple moved to Boone to be close to the railroad where Marion was employed. Eva was the family pie baker and it was said that nobody ever left her home hungry. She loved music and played the accordion, piano and organ. Eva and Marion had six children and Shirley, BSH-66, still lives in Boone. Always an active family member, she kept in touch with numerous relatives, including foster children. A "bird lady," she raised and sold birds and was an active member of her church. Services in Boone. 

       Robert Laurence Walker, 91, Rochester, MN. Survivors include his former wife and good friend, Carol Jo Clymer, BHS-63, Myers-Walker. Service in Ames.
