John Richard Peterson, 77, Boone. Born in Boone. Lived most of his life on a farm north of town. BHS-63. Studied computers are AIB. Most of his working career was spent at Percival Scientific in Perry. Was a National Guardsman. Survivors include his wife, Teri, a brother, Gerald (Jerry) Peterson of Des Moines but formerly of Boone, a sister and a sister-in-law, Sharon Peterson of Stratford. Services in Boone/Ames.
Merlin Dean Hagen, 94, Decorah. Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Georgiann Hagen of Marion, formerly of Boone.
Phyliss Jagerson Gathercole, 73, Arizona. Born in Madrid. MHS-67. Married Dave Gathercole in 1986. Worked at the Des Moines Register and Tribune and Hach Chemical in Ames before a 30-year career at John Deere in Ankeny. Survivors include her husband, three daughters, two sons including Chuck Gathercole of Madrid and two brothers, Don and Roger Jagerson both of Madrid. Services in Madrid.
