BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

      Barry Wayne Lucas, 70, Boone. Born in Muscatine. MHS-73. Muscatine Community College and received a Licensed Practical Nursing degree from DMACC. Served in many nursing homes in Boone and Story Counties for 21 years and then ended his career with pediatric home care. Married Jeanne Marie Rossmiller in 1983. The couple lived in Iowa City and Carroll before making Boone their home in 1987. Barry was a voracious reader, animal whisperer, musician, motorcyclist, bicyclist and a great father. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Lucas, of Boone,  a son, sister and brother. Services in Boone.    

      Timothy "Tim" R. Taege, 70, Ames. Born in Nebraska. Fremont HS-72. Wayne State-77. Became a Chicago and Northwestern employee. Married Susan Trcka in Ames in 1981. The couple lived in Boone for two years before making Ames their home. Worked at Quik Trip and then for 27 years at Hach Company before retirement in 2014. His wife and four children survive. Services in Ames. 

      A short COL service for Lt. Colonel Sven Lee Sterner, 83, Holly Lake Ranch, TX, who died in early July, will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Central Christian Church. Sven was a 1959 graduate of Boone High School. There will be time for visiting after the service.    

     Genta A. Ringgenberg, 70, Madrid. Born in Madrid. MHS-71. Married Dean Ringgenberg in 1985. Had a passion for painting and gardening and just chatting with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Dean, a daughter, Hollie (Jay) Wicker, and a son, Bret (Teejay) Carlson, a brother, Rod Peterson, sister Dana Peterson and sister-in-law, Shona Ringgenberg. Private graveside service.
