BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS

     Joye E. Harl Brown, 93, Boone. Born in Bloomfield. Bloomfield HS-46 where she was valedictorian and Majorette of the marching band. Married Phillip C. Brown in 1947 and they made their home in Bloomfield. The family moved to Boone in 1964. Joye worked as a secretary along side her husband at Boone Blank Book Company. She also worked at Thorpe Credit for a brief time. The couple retired in 1988 and enjoyed traveling, fishing, crafting, cooking and for 22 years, they were snow birds in Florida. Joye loved music and was known for making her homemade bread. Husband Phil died in 2010. Survivors include three sons, including Ralph Brown of Boone. Celebration of Life in Boone and burial in Adel at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. 

     RoseMary T. McHugh McNace, 91, Boone/Eastern Star. Born in Des Moines. Stanhope HS-50. Married Robert L. McNace in Harlan in 1951. The couple lived in Boone all of their married life. RoseMary worked at the Boone County Hospital in 1961 and for the Boone County Board of Education from 1962-77. In 1977, she started working at the Boone schools in Media and Technology. She retired in 1994. RoseMary and Bob loved traveling with the BMW Motorcycle Club. They also spent time at horseshoe pitching tournaments. In retirement, RoseMary volunteered at Sacred Heart School and for the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. Survivors include John (Cheryl) and Michael McNace and daughters, Mary (Dick) Youngblood and Ann (Vern) Wright all of Boone. A brother, James McHugh, Jr. also survives. Services in Boone.
