BOONE, AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

     Myra Katherine Nell, 87, Ames. Born in Boone. BHS-54. Degree from Concordia Seward, NE in 1958 and a Masters Degree in Education from Drake in 1965. Was a teacher for 38 years total in St. Louis, Michigan and California before a final 22 years in Ames. She loved church activities, sports, travel, gardening and reading. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Marcella Nell, of Boone.  Services in Ames. Burial at Linwood in Boone.

     Kyle Francis Kennedy, 54, Palatine, IL. Formerly of Polk City and Madrid. Born in Illinois. Attended Madrid school. Dowling HS-87. ISU. Air Force Reserve vet. Worked in the carpenter trade. Survivors include a daughter and two sons. Also surviving are his mother and father, Kathryn and Phillip Kennedy, a brother, his step mother, Nancy, and three step sisters. Services in Granger.

     Laurie Annette Shafer Doran, 67, Beaver. Born in Boone. BHS-74. Earned an associates degree in clothing and textiles from ISU. Married Douglas Doran in Boone in 1976. Held several jobs, Beaver grain elevator, Kelly's Amoco station, the Boone County Republican election board and was a house cleaner. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, scrapbooking and antiques. Survivors include her husband, Doug, six adult children, including Matthew (Abbie) Doran and Dannielle (Micah) Rasmussen of Boone and Joshua (Lori) Doran, Travis (Erin) Doran and Mattea (Devin) Boettcher all of Ogden. Survivors also include a sister, Jenny Stowell, of Boone and two brothers, including Craig (Amy) Shafer of Boone. Services in Boone.

     Dayle Eugene Drake, 64, Ogden/Accura. Born in Des Moines.Worked for Genesis for 10 years. He loved Harley's, hunting, camping and fishing. Survivors include two sisters and his stepfather. Services in Des Moines.
