BOONE AREA DEATH

     Beverly Ann Cowan Beeman, 90, Ames. Born near Luther and grew up on a farm near Luther. She played on Napier High School's state tournament basketball team. Married Joe Beeman in 1951. The family lived in Ames. She was musically gifted, playing the piano and clarinet. She encouraged all four of her boys to play a musical instrument. Loved the Statler brothers and was a wonderful caretaker. Bev received a liver transplant in 2000 with a predicted lifetime of five years. She lived 23 more years. Her parents were Ralph and Lois Cowan of Boone. Survivors include three sons and four siblings, including Janella Kammin of Boone. Private graveside service.
