BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS

      BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS: Norman Sturtz, 97, Osceola. Born in Boone. BHS-40. Army vet. Married Nyla Erickson, BHS-42, in 1947. Living in Boone, he managed elevators in Luther and Vincent. The family, eventually, moved to Truro where he worked for AGRI Industries. Nyla passed away and Norman married Phyliss Simmons in 1986. He retired while still farming in the Winterset area. Survivors include two sons, a sister, sister-in-law and a good friend and companion,Gerri Young.........Douglass Keigley, 86, Bella Vista, Ark. BHS-52. Married Janet Chadwick, BHS-53, in 1953 and she passed away in 2009.  The couple had lived in Fort Dodge for some 20 years while Doug did some plumbing/heating contracting and insurance work. In 2000, the couple retired and moved to Bella Vista. Survivors include two daughters, a sister and Pat Erwin, a friend and companion..........Myron (Miney) Hasstedt, 89, Urbandale. Born on a farm near Ogden. OHS, where he was a standout basketball player. Army vet. He married Janet Moeller, BHS-57, in 1958. His wife and three sons survive..........James (Jimmy) Schroeder, 93, Boone. BHS-47. Was a member of the Iowa State Guard. Graduated from the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis and joined his brother, Richard (Sonny) Schroeder, in the funeral home business started by their dad, Harry Schroeder. Married Patricia Rose, BHS-47, in 1949. Two daughters survive..........Judy Kelly Fausch, 76, Huxley. She married Donald Fausch at Boone Sacred Heart in 1971. Was a veteran teacher. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, two sisters and a brother.

     The classes of 1953 are seeking information on former classmates........Ron Kenepp?, Shirley Sue Anderson, Carla Menough, Shirley Inglesby and Joyce Noland.
     A 68th reunion will be held Saturday, September 18, at the Colorado Grill beginning at 5 p.m.. The contact for the class is Dorothy Huffman, 1809 Boone Street, 432-4151, if you can provide any info on the classmates being looked for.  Also, please let Dorothy know by September 15 if you plan to attend the reunion.
     The classes of 1965 will meet on Friday, August 6, at the Entertainment Center during Pufferbilly Days. That's located at Ninth and Keeler starting at 6 p.m. Then, on Saturday, the 7th, the group will meet at the Cedar Pointe club from 6 to 10 p.m. for hors d' oeuves cost free.
