BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

      Krisha Lynn Miles Barrett, 72, Ames. Born in Boone. BHS-71. Married Steve Barrett. They divorced but remained present in each other's lives. Krisha worked for McFarland Clinic in the Medical Records Department for 35 years before retirement. She enjoyed sipping Diet Coke, watching soaps and basking in the sun. She loved being a grandma and following her girls extracurricular activities. Survivors include her former spouse, Steve (Jan) Barrett, her daughters, Jenny and Jessie, and her brother, Eric (Patty) Miles, BHS-68. Services in Ames.  
      

     Mary Genevieve (Gen) Higgins Haase, 97, Fort Dodge/Baber Hospice Home. Born in Greene County. Grand Junction HS-45. Married Wilber E. Haase in Grand Junction in 1967. The couple farmed in rural Boxholm for two years before moving to rural Dayton where they farmed until moving to Grand View Apartments in Dayton in retirement in 1994. Gen had worked in the Boone Farm Bureau office, as well as offices in Des Moines, Perry and Jefferson. Survivors include a son and a daughter. Services have been held.

     Donald Earl Johnson, 82, Madrid. Born in Minnesota. Beaver Creek HS-59. National Guard vet. Graduated as a medical labratory technologist. Married Suzanne in 1967. The couple lived in Eldora, Centerville, Adel and Exira. Retired in Exira from his 25-year medical lab director job at Audubon County Hospital. The couple then moved to Madrid to be closer to their daughters Stefanie and Carolyn. Two sisters, a brother and a best frend, Roger Lenz, also survive. Services in Nevada and Eldora.
