BOONE/ AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

      Robert "Bob" Bray, 94, Boone. Born in Waukon. Army vet. Married Rowena Kester in Boone in 1957. Was the caretaker at the Boone "Y" Camp before retiring. Did carpentry work in retirement. He loved traveling and woodworking. Survivors include a daughter, a sister, sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Services in Boone.     

      Robert D. "Hoppy" Howe, 92, Boone. Born near Pilot Mound. PMHS. Had a 42-year career with the Iowa Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He was an aircraft mechanic and crew chief, mostly on helicopters. In retirement, he continued to serve as a mechanic, taking care of numerous hospital helicopters in the Midwest. Married Bonnie Hopkins in 1954. She passed away in 2014 and in 2019, he married Karen Donovan. Was a scout master and Little League coach who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling and clearing snow for the neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Karen, three sons, a brother, a sister, and three step-sons. Services in Boone.  

      Jane Park Stevenson, 69, Kellogg. Born in Newton. NHS-72. Earned an RN degree and worked at Skiff Medical Center and the Boone County Hospital for a total of 40 years. Married Dennis Stevenson in 1992. Survivors include her husband, four adult children and three siblings. Services in Newton.  

     John H. Harley McCoy, 82, Council Bluffs. Born in Boone. BHS-59. Had a 43 year career with the DOT. Married Lili Marlene Jens while working a Glenwood project. Transferred to Council Bluffs in 1967. After DOT retirement, he went to work on a Council Bluffs Municipal Airport expansion project for seven years. He closely followed politics and the stock, grain, and cattle markets and loved going to garage sales. Army National Guard vet and local sports fan, as well as a big Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. Survivors include his wife, Lili Marlene, two daughters, two sisters and two sisters-in-law. Services in Council Bluffs.

      Don Stiles, 81, Dodgeville, WI. Born in Boone. BHS-60. Married Jackie Dolphin, BHS-61, in 1963. Was a fire fighter in Ames for 22 years. Served as the Driver of the pumper truck. He retired and moved to Arizona in 1988. Was self employed as a window washer, including high rise windows. In 2008, the couple moved to Dodgeville. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Dolphin Stiles, BHS-61, and two adult children, Jamie and Kent. No services are planned.  

      Ruth Marie Weber Tiller, 86, Boone/Bethany Life. Born in Minnesota. Mankato HS. Married Edward Tiller in Mankato in 1957. Attended DMACC in Boone. Was employed by Heartland Area Education Association for 15 years until retirement in 1997. Very active in church, volunteered for the Boone County Hospital Auxiliary, Boone County RSVP, Erickson Library and the Boone County Democrats. She enjoyed quilting, square dancing, traveling and card club. Survivors include three daughters, Lisa, BHS-78, Cheryl, BHS-82, and Paula, BHS-87. A sister also survives. Services in Boone.    

      Eldora Rose Stumpenhorst Heineman, 97, Ogden/Eastern Star. Born in Nebraska. Blue Hill HS-43. Kearney State Teacher's College. She taught in Nebraska and Iowa for five years before her marriage to John Heineman Jr. in Ogden in 1948. The couple farmed in the Ogden area and Eldora worked at the ASCS office. An excellent cook and church member, she loved playing bridge and spending time at Twin Lakes. Survivors include her husband, John Heineman Jr. of Ogden and three sons, including Craig (Martha) and Paul (Mari Lynn) of Ogden. Services in Ogden. 

      Sean Patterson, 58, Boone. Born in Boone. BHS-84. Attended Northwest Missouri State. Married Amanda Patterson in 2008. Was HyVee manager for over 20 years. He loved the outdoors, cycling, tennis and his families land. Survivors include his wife, Amanda, five children, two brothers and a sister. Services in Boone.  

     Karen (Kerm) M. Oliver Hicks, 80, Boone. Survivors include her Life Partner Marc Hines, a son, Terry Hicks, a daughter, Jodi (Rick) Bothwell, and a brother, Myron (Julie) Oliver of Boone. Private service in Boone. 

     Harl Elroy Ingham, 88, Ames. Survivors include a grand daughter, Anastasia (Edward Thorne) Andresen, of Boone. Services in Ames.
