BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS

     Alinda Denece Angstrom Lager, 67, Stratford. Stratford HS-72. Academy of Beauty, 73. Married Robert Lager in 1980. Worked at several beauty shops in the area, including some in Boone. Was also a "lunch lady" for the Logan-Magnolia school district. Survivors include her husband, Robert, two sons and a daughter and six siblings. Two of the  male siblings are Kevin Angstrom of Boone and Craig  Angstrom of Stratford. Female area siblings are Carol and Pat Angstrom of Stratford.    
     Allan Rae Neely,75, Ankeny. Formerly of Minnesota and Boone. BHS-64. Survivors include his wife, Margie, his mother, Punk Neely, of Boone, a son, a daughter, a brother, Rick Neely, a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Services will be held in Boone.
     John Wilson Jr., 92, Boone. A Nebraska native, he served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. before retirement in 1973. After discharge, the family settled in Boone to be closer to family members.  In his second retirement, he was the maintenance supervisor at United Community school until 1993. Survivors include his wife, Susan, three sons and a daughter. Services will be held in Boone.  
     John Douglas McLeod, 81, Marana, AZ. Born in Boone. BHS-58. Attended ISU and Buena Vista. Had a 31-year career in Costa Mesa, CA, working for Wells Fargo. Opened the companies first office in Hawaii and ended his work with Wells Fargo as a District Manager. After a move to Arizona, Doug began working in real estate. A rock and roll music enthusiast, he also loved model railroading. Survivors include his wife, Linda, a son and his sister, Pam McLeod. A service will be held in Boone in May.
     Karen Joyce Madden Michel, 81, Boone. Born in Boone. BHS-59. Married Floyd Michel in 1961. Worked at Rolfes and Bournes and then was an important employee at the Boone County Flyer/Shopping News until 1996. Concluded her work days at ISU. Karen and Floyd built homes and sought antiques together. They also enjoyed work at various race tracks.....Floyd as the flagman and Karen as a scorer. Survivors include her husband, Floyd, son Jeff, daughter Mishelle, sister-in-law Phyliss Madden of Boone, a niece, Susan Nelson and a nephew, Mike Madden, of Boone. Services will be in Boone.
     Loren Appenzeller, 88, Story City/Boone. Grew up in the Stratford area. Stratford HS. Was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Earned a B.S. degree from the University of Northern Iowa and had additional machine shop and welding training. Taught 24 years at Lakota, Garner and Boone schools. Was a part-time Fareway driver for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Joyce, sons Mark and Brad, daughters Deb and Diane and daughter-in-law Annie. Services will be in Boone.
