BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS: Derrell Olofson, 80, Boone. Grew up in the Stratford area. Stratford HS. Was a member of the Iowa Air National Guard for six years. Worked at the National Animal Disease Lab in Ames from 1960-97. Also owned and operated Olofson Plumbing and Heating for 40 years. After retirement, worked on the DMACC campus. Boone area survivors include his wife, Bev Olofson, three adult children including son Darin Olofson and step-son Scot Kinne both of Boone. Other survivors include adult daughters Jody Simmons of California and Jill Olofson of Johnston..........Robert Schutt, 70, Des Moines.Was a volunteer at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad...........Kathy Grabau, 67, Boone.
