HELP NEEDED

Let's not tarry. No sugar coating either. Let's get right to the point.
Yes, the Boone County Historical Society lawsuit has come to a successful conclusion.
HOWEVER, the four very generous, very dedicated plaintiffs, who "stuck their neck way out" for BCHS patrons and the Boone community for over 18 months now need "our" help.
Financial support has dwindled and there's a final bill of $23,353.97 to get paid before April 30. That onus is on the four.
Here's the very positive skinny: (1) The group prevented the sale of the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace. The birthplace reopened in July for the remainder of the 2019 season and will open this spring for a full regular season. (2) Under a new board, the BCHS, despite all the damage that was inflicted, has settled into a functioning entity again, paying the bills and planning for the future.
From July 2018 to February 2019, there was an active effort by several individuals to raise funds needed to support the lawsuit. But, for the remainder of 2019, the four brave plaintiffs have been left, on their own, to see the lawsuit through to its conclusion.
A settlement was received but that was needed immediately for application to past due legal fees. The current outstanding balance remained.
To date, generous support has been received from 39 individual donors and one group and some have donated multiple times. Actually, the largest donor has been the BCHS attorney, Jason Casini, and the law firm of Whitfield & Eddy of Des Moines.
While the lawsuit was pending, the plaintiffs were not allowed to publicly ask for financial help.
That brings the situation forward, to today...........a big, final bill and a deadline for payment to extricate the plaintiffs from any further personal obligations.
The foursome have done all this for us, those Boone County citizens interested in maintaining a local treasure trove of local historical information and for the general interest of Boone County.
Its now our turn to "answer their call for help."
Honestly, the Kelley's don't have thousands to give but we will give what we can and if everyone else does the same, we may have a surprising result.
As they say, "no amount is too small" and the more volume the better.
Mail to Save Our Museums, P.O. Box 224, Boone, Iowa 50036 OR if you have a special gift to discuss or some ideas on how this bill can be nuked, call Linda Millis (515-210-0877).
Thanks for doing whatever you feel comfortable doing and "tell'um" the Kornerman sent you.
