THE AFTERMATH

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 2018, are history and now, we look forward to a great 2019.

Clearing up the desk: (1) Jenelle Henry informs that she has found that Whitt's Drive In recipe for mexiburgers she was seeking. (2) Holiday greetings from Ron Hopkins, BSH-59. (3) Received a call from Mel Murken, BHS-59, who resides in Rippey in retirement. Mel's a fellow baseball nut (Hall of Fame high school coach of the sport) and he informs that he will soon head to Florida where he will stay until March. "Lots of major league baseball teams have spring training in the area so I'll be going to games practically every day," he said. (4) Nancy Jo Smith Bluhm, BHS-54, was in town to visit brother George and others and called to say, "hello." Had a nice visit with this longtime Korner supporter. She and husband, Paul, live in Pennsylvania. (5) The Kornerman wonders how many viewers caught the short note in the Des Moines Register the other day.......congratulations to Miney and Janet Moeller Hasstedt on their 60th wedding anniversary. Now there was a match, Hollywood style. Miney was a very big (tall...that is.....in his day) Ogden Bulldog basketball star and Janet was a Boone County beauty queen. We sent a congratulatory note.
