Donald Hugh Marmet, 97, Altoona/Altoona Nursing Center. Born in Alleman. Navy vet. Graveside service will be held at the Pilot Mound cemetery.
Jerry Dean Magnuson, 70, Ames. Born in Boone. BHS-72. Married Janine Clausen. Retired after 42 years of service as a lineman with the Electrical Department for the city of Ames. A lifelong lover of racing, he enjoyed attending the Daytona 500 and getting involved with racing sponsors. He took pride in his limousine and engraving businesses. Jerry loved helping on the family farm, especially during harvest when he would man a John Deere tractor. He also loved animals, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley's, grilling and driving his Camaro. A Cyclone fan, he was also involved in golf, pool and bowling. Survivors include his two daughters, Jenna and Jerra. A COL will be held in Ames.
Margaret Irene (Marg) Musser Hilsabeck, 77, Boone. Born in Boone. BHS-65. Married Thomas Hilsabeck in Boone in 1967. Worked at Bournes and then as a home daycare provider. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting or school events. Also enjoyed watching birds, using her I-Pad and watching Elvis or Hallmark movies. She is survived by three sons, including Michael (Heidi) and Daniel of Boone, a daughter, Amber (Matt) Van Pelt of Boone, and several grandchildren, many from the Boone, Frazier and Ogden areas. Services are pending.
Jeffery Wayne Hendershott, 66, San Diego. Ogden HS-77, where he was involved in sports and student council. Navy vet. Preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette. He enjoyed fishing and sports, especially the San Diego Chargers and Ohio State. Survivors include a son, two stepchildren, a sister, Julie (Bob) Chopard of Boone and a brother. A COL will be held in San Diego.
