Elizabeth "Elly" Jane Hall, 44, Boone. Born in Boone. BHS-1998 where she was a member of the Dolphin's swim team. Was a data entry typist at CDS Global, a bookkeeper at Casey's home office in Ankeny and a cashier at the Boone Short Stop. Elly's legacy through her large and open heart was filled with love for kids, dogs, family and friends she made everywhere she went. She had a vibrant personality, loved music, animals, camping, swimming and fishing. Elly lost her partner, Todd Baumgardner in 2016. Survivors include her children, Marlee Hall of Ames, Aiden Hall and Jude Baumgardner, of Boone as well as parents, Robert and Patricia Hall, sisters Courtney (Mike) Gibbs and Aubry Hall all of Boone. A COL is pending.
James Edward Swanson, 98, Monument, CO. Born in Illinois. Family lived in various locations in many states including Iowa, in Harcourt, Whitten, Rowley and Lanyon. Lanyon HS-44. Navy vet. Married Roberta Luetta Bloomquist in 1950 in Boxholm where Roberta served as church organist at the Boxholm Swedish Methodist church. The couple taught school in Alden, Gladbrook and Grand Junction before settling in Iowa City. Jim taught a variety of courses, including Business Ed and Drivers Ed. He enjoyed working on family genealogy, coin and stamp collecting, gardening, traveling and volunteering. Jim was a Free Mason and the couple enjoyed attending concert and theatre performances. In 2018, the couple moved to Monument to be near their daughter, Roberta Ann. Jim's wife passed in 2021. His daughter, who was born in Grand Junction, survives.
David Eugene Anderson, 86, Boone. Born in Webster City. Webster City HS. Married Shirley Hill in Nashua in 1957. The couple started their life together in Duncombe before farming and then moving to Boone. In addition to farming, Dave worked in construction in Ogden and Boone. Served on 4H board and loved fishing, traveling and camping. Dave embodied the best of qualities and shared his faith generously. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, a son, Charles, and a brother, Steve, as well as other relatives. Services in Boone.
