Ginette Faye Majors Abrahamson, 73, Westminister, CO. BHS-70. Survivors include a daughter, Tara, and numerous Boone/Boxholm area relatives. Her husband, Dave Abrahamson, passed away in 2024. Services pending.
Karen Ann Judge Anderson, 86, Boone/Eastern Star. Born in Ames. Grew up near Napier and attended United Community HS where she starred as a member of the 1955 U.C. State basketball tournament team. Earned a degree at Mercy School of Nursing. Worked at a doctor's office in Ames, worked in Colorado and as a nurse in a San Diego Naval Hospital. Married Jerry Anderson in 1968. The couple lived in Los Angeles but then Jerry's naval career took them to Maryland, Virginia, Rhode Island, the Philippines, Virginia and California, a second time, and finally to Boone for the past 35 years. Karen was a devoted mother, volunteer, church worker and book reader who loved following women's basketball. Survivors include her husband, Jerry, and five adult children, including Judy (Brent) Nelson of Boone. A sister also survives. Services in Boone and Adel.
Larry Bergloff, 86, Kansas City. BHS-56.
Charles Nelton, 83, Ames. He and his wife, Doris, over a 20-year period, owned seven Kentucky Fried Chicken stores in Central Iowa, including a store in Boone. Doris was the CFO and Charles ran the kitchen. Charles brother and his wife shared in this adventure. Doris has passed but survivors include two sons. Services in Huxley and Ames.
