     BOONE CONNECTED DEATHS: Esther Gunnink, 80, Boone. Was an elementary teacher for several early years. Boone area survivor is her husband, Norman. Also survived by a son and three daughters.........Ken Shuey, 78, Boone. BHS-56. Was a 31-year veteran of the Iowa National Guard and U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. Worked for the Iowa DOT for 36 years prior to retirement in 1996. Was a Little League coach and an official of several sports. Also served Iowa State University as the head statistician for Cyclone football and basketball for 35 years. Boone area survivors include his wife, Judy, of Boone and sons, Steve and Monty, and daughter, Sue, all of Ames..........Marjorie Hibner, Ogden Manor. Formerly of Charles City..........Larry Kruse, 76, Ogden. After graduating from Dana HS-58, he attended Boone Junior College for one year. Worked for American Airlines for 35 years before retiring and moving back to Ogden.......Shirley Gibbons, 81, Fort Dodge.........Norman Erickson, 92, Stratford. Stratford HS-42. Farmed in the Stratford area with his wife, Margaret (deceased). Boone area survivor is a son, Doran Erickson, of Stratford........Patricia Blaker, 78, Perry. She and husband, Larry (deceased), were residents of Boone from 1963-70. In Perry, she worked many years for the Perry school system. Three sons survive including, Joe Blaker, of Woodward.......
Katherine Naeve, 100, Des Moines. Born in Boone. Parents were Clifford and Margaret Phipps. Farmed with her husband, August (deceased), near Woodward. She also worked at the Woodward State Hospital for 20 years..........James Garvin, 95, Urbandale. Born in Ogden. Boone area survivor is a sister, Eula Butrick, 102, of Boone........Marvin Samuelson, 87, Madrid. Born in Madrid.
