Don Dutton, 82, Spirit Lake, Idaho. Born in Boone. BHS-60. Upper Iowa-64. He was an outstanding athlete, primarily in basketball and baseball, at Boone High School and at Upper Iowa University. An All-State Toreador, he became a four-year basketball standout for Upper Iowa, currently ranking seventh in career points with 1,507. In 1964, he was a nominee for the prestigious Clarkson Award, given to the top college player in Iowa. He had been a second team all-conference choice in basketball as a sophomore and took top all-conference honors both as a junior and senior. Dutton was also a first team all-conference outfielder for the Peacock baseball team. After college graduation, he became a teacher and head basketball coach at Clarence, then at Oskaloosa. After earning his master's degree from ISU, he spent one year as head baseball coach at Iowa City Regina. That was followed by school administrative work at the high school and middle school in Oshkosh, WI. Awaiting further obituary news and service information.
Marvin Joseph Farley, 94, Boone/Eastern Star. Born in Boone. BHS-50. Married Barbara Joy Crouse , BHS-52, in 1969. The couple moved from Los Angeles to Mountain Home, Ark. after his retirement from Magniflux Corporation in 1992. Barbara passed away in 2012. Marv enjoyed golf, fishing, traveling and home improvement projects. The couple enjoyed traveling across the U.S. in their motorhomes. Survivors include a son, Jim (Sherry) Farley, a sister, Joanne Hall and his brother-in-law, Dale (Carol) Crouse of Boone. Services later.
