BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

       Gregory Paul Hager, 52, Boone. Born in Boone. Ogden HS-93. Greg enjoyed theatre and participated in plays at Boone Campus, Des Moines Area Community College. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing and target shooting. He has been a driver for Railcrew Xpress transporting railroad employees to job assignments in the region. Survivors include a brother, Doug Hager, of Boxholm and a sister, Kathy. A COL will be held at a later date. 

       James Eugene Meyer, 76, Urbandale. Raised on a farm southeast of Stanhope. Attended St. Paul's Lutheran school and church in rural Boone. South Hamilton HS-67, where he was active in 4-H, sports, music and stage. Graduated from Ellsworth Community College and Northwest Missouri State, earning a degree in Marketing. Graduated from the Iowa Military Academy as a 2nd LT and served six years in the Iowa Army National Guard and Army reserves before retirement as a 1st Lt. Married Janice Young in Missouri in 1972. James had a 40-year agribusiness career that encompassed banking, insurance, sales and marketing management positions. In retirement, the couple enjoyed numerous trips, enjoying tennis, snow skiing, playing golf and pickle ball.  They attended many concerts at Iowa State and Northwest Missouri sporting events. His wife, Jan, and daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Salvo, survive. Service in Urbandale. Burial at Linwood in Boone.      

       Service will be held in Boone for Charles "Chuck" R. Burbach, 81, who passed away August 15, 2025, in Ogden/Accura Healthcare. Born in Nebraska. Married Mary Leonilla Werve in 1965. The couple lived in Washington, IA but later in Phoenix and then, Columbia, MO. Chuck was a construction worker, funeral director and non-profit manager. Moving to North Carolina in 2000, Chuck started his own ceramic tile business. Mary passed in 2006 and in 2020, Chuck moved to Boone to be near his daughter, Nancy (David) Alexander. Nancy and two other daughters survive. Eight grandchildren survive, four of them in the Boone area, Molly and Elsie Alexander of Boone, Tom Alexander of Ames and Brigitte (Andrew) Niedermann of Ogden.
