BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

      Douglas F. Laughlin, 65, West Des Moines. Born in Missouri. Grew up in Mission, Kansas. Met the love of his life, Sharon, in Iowa. Dedicated 34 of his years to Patterson Logistics in Boone. Doug had a deep passion for golfing, fishing and the KC Chiefs. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, two sisters, two brothers and two step children. Services in West Des Moines. 

      LeAnn Rae Seibert Olson, 87, Boone. Born in Fort Dodge. Boxholm HS-56. Married Robert Olson in Boxholm in 1957. Worked at Quinn Machinery for over 30 years. After retirement, she worked for Montag Chiropractic. Survivors include two sons, Tim and Mike Olson, both of Boone, a brother and several area grandchildren, including Jada Olson of Ogden and Aaron Olson of Boone. Services in Boone.

     LATE REPORT: Thomas Craig "Sam" Samuelson, 74, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin passed away March 7, 2025. Born in Boone. United Community HS-69. DMACC and then was a forestry major at ISU. After growing up on a Boone County farm, enjoying the animals and country life, he moved to Lake Geneva where he lived the rest of his life. In downtown Lake Geneva, he owned "fat cats" for several years. He enjoyed scuba diving and had a private underwater rescue service. He enjoyed skiing, playing golf and taking flying lessons which resulted in a solo flight. Survivors include a sister, a nephew and an aunt, all out-of-state residents. A graveside service will be held at Linwood.
