BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

         Susan Kay Schweinefus Brown, 77, Hiawatha, IA. Born in Boone. Retired from Rockwell Collins after 48 years of service. Survived by a daughter, two sisters and a brother. Her husband, Curtis Brown, preceded her in death. Services in Cedar Rapids.        

        Mark E. "Grizz" Blanshan, 73, Boone. Born in Utah. Worked for Des Moines Asphalt Company for over 20 years as a truck driver. Also trucked from coast to coast for several years and was a member of Teamsters Local 90. He loved his Harley and his dogs. Collected model trains and had a track display in his basement. Mark was proud of his 30 years of sobriety. He is survived by a Boone nephew, David (Reanne) Lile. Graveside and COL in Boone.      

        Bob E. Person, 85, Boone/Westhaven. Born in Iowa City. An Army kid, Bob graduated from Walsingham Academy in Virginia and was a double major at the University of Iowa/photojournalism and television filmmaking. Worked as a photographer at the Boone News Republican before a 30-year career teaching photography and journalism at Boone Campus DMACC. For 40 years, he also owned and operated Person Studio. He earned numerous awards and honors during his varied career. Married Lisa Stull in 1978. Bob had a deep faith and taught CCD classes for Sacred Heart and was a Knights of Columbus member. He enjoyed RC planes, model trains, nature outings and music. Survivors include his wife, Lisa, and two daughters, Nicole (BHS-2003) (Brad) Perdue of Minnesota and Brooke (BHS-2007) Person of Boone. Services in Boone.

       Roger Allen Kempe, 79. Visitation at Napier Community Church with burial at Olive Branch Cemetery in rural Colfax Township, Boone County Iowa.
