BOONE/AREA CONNECTED DEATHS

       Keith Lee Parkinson, 85, Ledyard, CT. Born in Jefferson. BHS-57, BJC. Navy Vet. Long and successful Navy career. Purdue graduate in Electrical Engineering and attended Officer Candidate School. Retired after 24 years of service. In 1978, he and his wife, Karen Lee Williams, BHS-58, settled into Rose Hill Farm while Keith embarked on successful careers traveling the world in the nuclear industry. Survivors include his wife, Karen, a son, two daughters and a sister, Nancy Parkinson Ford, BHS-61, and her husband, Larry Ford, BHS-59. Private services. 

       Jane Ann McCaffrey, 79,  Boone. Born in Des Moines. Panora HS-63. Married Robert (Bob) McCaffrey in 1975 and the couple made their home in Boone. Jane worked many years as a medical secretary at Iowa Cardiac Surgery Associates. An avid animal lover, she took great joy in her vegetable and flower gardens, enjoyed working word searches and had a passion for adult coloring books. Survivors include a son and a daughter, Janan (Joseph) Miller of Boone. Services in Perry.

       Carmen  Kay Kokemiller, 64, Boone. Born in Webster City. BHS-79. Worked as a Nurse's Aide. A strong church member, she read scriptures daily, was also an avid reader, journal keeper and pet lover. She loved watching Looney Tunes Cartoons on TV. As the recipient of two donor eardrums as a teenager, she was a strong advocate of organ donation. A sister, Connie Kokemiller, of Boone survives. Services in Boone.

       Gary Fatino, 65, Madrid. Born in Des Moines. He enjoyed his dream home and property in Madrid with his wife, Lisa Kollasch. Gary was comfortable and proud of his life in the country and enjoyed the peace and sunshine there as much as he could.He worked many years as a service tech and eventually owned Goodwin Tucker Group. He recently retired and lost his 20-year battle with cancer. Gary's wife, his three children and two brothers survive. Services in West Des Moines.

     Richard Edwin Hasbrook, 90. Born near Estherville. EHS. EJC. State University of Iowa. Army vet. Had a 45 year working career at ISU as Director of Research Administration. Married Carolyn Brooks in Ames in 1963. Retired from ISU in 2000. His wife and two sons survive. Services in Boone.
