BOONE/AREA COMMUNITY DEATHS

      Judd Emanuel Bork, 54, Boone. Born in Boone. Ogden HS-89. Married Tiffany Nigro in Beaver in 1998. The couple later divorced. Judd loved to fish and hunt. Survivors include a daughter. Boone survivors include his parents, Walter (Manny) Bork Jr. and Colleen Sparks, an aunt, Becky Watson, and a cousin, Josh Clauson. A COL will be held later.    

      David Lee Askvig, 72, Ankeny. Born in Boone. BHS-70. Married Katheryn Klocksiem in 1972 in Ogden. Dave was a former member of the 1064th Transportation Company of the Iowa Army National Guard based in Boone. He was employed as a bakery manager by HyVee and Dahl's and was a business owner of Askvig's Bakery in Ames. Later, he worked at the Mail Distribution Center as a mail handler in Urbandale. He retired in 2021. Survivors include his wife, Katheryn, of Ankeny and four children, three of them living in Ankeny. Services in Boone with burial near Paton.       

      Barbara Marie Butler, 97, Boone/Westhaven. Born in Ferguson, IA. Madrid HS-45. Earned a teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers (UNI). Taught elementary students for many years in Dows, Jefferson and Boone. Moved to Illinois and was employed as a social worker but then returned to teaching in 1988. Moved to Boone in 1999 to be closer to family. Barbara found joy in simple things, reading, traveling, TV and family. Survivors include nephews, Michael Slight, John Slight and their children and families. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery near Madrid.
